Places for People has appointed groundworks contractors to a £246m framework divided into 13 regional lots across England and Scotland.
Coinford Central and RJ McLeod secured the widest coverage, each taking places on six of the 13 lots. M&J Evans Construction and Houlihan & Co each picked up four lots, and the line-up also includes MV Kelly, Erith, Tamdown, O'Halloran & O'Brien and Chasetown Civil Engineering.
Scope of works
The lots cover site clearance, bulk earthworks and foundations, drainage, utilities, roads, sewers and external works. Scottish packages go further, taking in house foundations, completed in-situ concrete floors, plot drainage, retaining wall foundations and ducting for electric vehicle infrastructure.
Where the value sits
Greater London is the biggest regional package at about £38m. The lot covering Berkshire, Hampshire and Dorset follows at £30m, while East Anglia and the northern Home Counties account for a further £29m.
Beyond London and the southern coast, the English lots take in Yorkshire; the West Midlands together with Staffordshire and Warwickshire; Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire; Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire; and Bristol, Devon and Somerset. Scotland is split into three areas: the Central Belt, North 1 covering the Aberdeen area only, and North 2, whose detailed area was not specified.
